Salamu alaikum.
Mashallah, I am so happy to find your site, I wish I found it before I finished my practicum. It was making a full curriculum for Arabic. I have to say, the results were amazing. Had I found your link earlier, I would've been saved so much headache as it is really helpful.
I was wondering about the movable alphabets, we made them from foam, and they look really great, but as for yours, does each stack contain the same alphabet, or does it contain the middle and ending shapes?
Thanks again.

Assalaamu alaikum
Thank you for uploading this, do you have a link to the movable letters, initial, medial and ending, so that the child can spell words.
I really want to make one, but would love to find a template of sorts

Asalaam' Alaikum Nadia:

It sounds interesting. I wish more was available all over. It seems we get a lot of junk here to use and it is not only cheap, but it is expensive too.

Please let me know if there is a way to get the set. I'm always interesting in incorporating something in our homeschool that actually works for Arabic - I haven't found anything yet.

Asalaam 'Alaikum,

salamualaikum sis sumayyah

masyaallah...I'd like to suggest another method of teaching arabic, though I don't know if it's available here in the US. What I used for my kids is a 6 series set called Iqra' (not the US ones) made in Malaysia. Basically it teaches arabic by incorporating the tashkeel right away so instead of learning the names of the indiv letters, the child will learn to read a letter with a tashkeel. What I also like about this set is in also incorporates tajweed right away, so by the time a child finishes the 6 series, he will be reading with tajweed, no need to teach it separately. I have one set, I gave one to a sister, and the only way I can think of getting it is buying it in Malaysia. Personally I think this method the most efficient one I've seen so far incorporating tajweed especially right away. When I was young we used a diferent method, learning the letters and then adding the tashkeel for each letter, but i have to say it's more difficult somewhat. If you want it let me know :)

Asalaam 'Alaikum:

Are you a member of the Arabic Learning Materials group or one of the other groups? If so, please contact me there if you want somewhere to post the materials. Or, if you have your own site to post them on, please let us know!

If not, and you are still interested in sharing - I wouldn't mind putting on them on the www.yemenlinks.com site citing it came from you with permission. That would make my job of making the medial letters a much easier one!

If you do not know how to reach me, just leave a comment here with your email. I WILL NOT post it - but will use it to contact you, insha'Allah.

Since Arabic is not my mother tongue, it really takes me quite a while to get these things finished. While a good typist in English - it is worse than a hen pecking at the ground when typing Arabic! Jazak Allah Khair.

Salamun alykum.
Thats great. I made movable arabic letters based on montessori materials. The second set box includes the initial, midial and final form of the alphabet. I hope to upload it to be shared to everyone.
